Birthdays, Skates, Miracles and Grace

Last week was one of the most demanding weeks of my life. I had a 90-minute special to get done for work, a new position I was unexpectedly asked to try and train for, plus a shoot I was in charge of. On top of my work duties, I was planning back-to-back events for the weekend, our 3rd INVADE event and my little sister’s 18th Birthday party. In addition to that, I was coordinating with 12 out of town guests who were coming in for the weekend’s festivities AND somewhere in there I had to find time to sleep.

In short, I’ve never had so many big things hitting me at the exact same time. On Monday of last week I was asked to train for the new position at work…starting THAT day. When I hung up the phone with my boss I yelled “Jesus!” Then I took a moment to pray and realized, “there is no way I’m going to get through this week and weekend without God.” I knew then that I would need to stay extra close and in-tune to His voice in order to handle everything and handle it well.

Without going into major details (cause we’d be here for HOURS!), it is so crucial that we not rely on our own wisdom, strength and abilities. Had I done that, I know that I wouldn’t have successfully accomplished everything.

I literally prayed throughout each step of each day, “Lord, what should I do next?” I took time to be still in His presence and read His word…time that I honestly didn’t feel like I could afford. I allowed the Lord to guide me through every responsibility and oh how well He led!

So I just wanted to encourage you today! If you’re feeling overwhelmed or like you don’t have enough hours in a day, begin practicing the presence of God. Meaning, refocus your attention on God, pray and listen to him as much as possible throughout your day. Be in constant communication with Him and He will surely guide you. Step-by-Step. Even in the small things like “Should I take a lunch break right now?” He cares, He’ll guide and He’s the greatest burden carrier!

“Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” – Galatians 5:25

May you find peace and success in Him.
