Disclaimer: I realize I generalized a whole lot in this post, I’m not throwing all secular artists into this category and I’m not throwing my entire generation into this category either. There is always some good in the midst of madness.
The world’s culture sucks. It’s all smoke & mirrors. I think it may be one of the only things I actually hate. I hate that people are fooled & led astray by celebrities because they are dead to the truth & mesmerized by the seemingly glamorous lifestyles of the “famous.” I hate that so many people look to artists and celebrities as role models because they’ve never had a person in real life model what a man or woman should be. And I hate that people’s views, mindsets, values, and ways of living, are shaped by what’s popular.
At the end of the day, these entertainers would never do life with you, they would never come to you when you’re going through something, and they most absolutely wouldn’t die for you! No matter how many gossip blogs your read, songs you learn, concerts and meet & greets you attend, you don’t know them and they don’t know you!
When I watch and hear what’s considered “popular,” I get angry because all I see/hear is foolishness, lies & death being glamorized with money, power and fame to sell false hopes, false dreams & false identities to a generation that’s lost, hurt, angry, and searching.
Popular culture & entertainment is our pimp/master and we are the slave, if we don’t recognize it for what it is.
Don’t be fooled by the hype lights & fashion. It’s cool for a moment, trust I get down with some “secular” artists, but I know that their “dopeness” is not gonna last forever. My hope is not in them.
Be about that #foreverlife
Think about it, with music, fashion, hairstyles, it all changes constantly…what’s hot today is wack tomorrow. I dare you to go out tomorrow with the same hairstyle and the same clothes you used to wear 10 years ago (some of you weren’t alive 10 years ago so just go back 4 years lol)!
Point is, trying to stay on top in this world is a useless goal that won’t even be worth a penny at the end of this life.
Find your hope, your identity and satisfaction in that which will never be outdated, never run out, will never lie to you and will remain with you even after death.
Having a relationship with Jesus is the best, most valuable investment possible to make on this earth. Forget money, cars, houses, a rich husband, bad chick or good paying job, that all ends up with a value of zero in the end.
I want to punch satan (I don’t even like to capitalize his name) in the face & take our generation back from under the trance he’s trapped us in. Wake up young people!! You are worth so much more than you realize!!
